Early Times Report

Doda, Jan 27: An accident near Doda left four persons injured and one dead.
The victims were rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Doda for treatment. However, attendants alleged that no doctors were present in the hospital and even the ultrasound room was locked.
“Despite the critical condition of the accident victims, there is an apparent lack of medical personnel on hand. We have been waiting for the past 45 minutes, desperately seeking assistance for the injured, but to no avail,” attendants alleged.
They said that the rooms designated for doctors were found locked, and repeated attempts to summon doctors proved futile. Calls made to the attending physician went unanswered.
A video which went viral on social media revealed attendants expressing their dismay at the absence of medical staff in the hospital, including the USG room.
They urged Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, to intervene and assess the dire conditions at the medical facility. They raised questions about the whereabouts of the doctors. "We have been waiting for assistance for almost an hour, and there is no sign of any doctor or nurse. The rooms are locked, and we are helpless," attendants alleged.
When Early Times contacted Medical Superintendent GMC Doda, Dr Tanveer Ahmed, he termed the allegations leveled by attendants baseless. “All doctors are present. We are handling the patients. The condition of three accident victims is stable. Doctors and paramedical staff are providing medical attention,” he said.
