FFMA pays tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on death anniversary

JAMMU, Jan 30: Freedom Fighters Memorial Association (FFMA) on Tuesday held a function to remember Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, here on Tuesday.
The function was organised by chairman of the Association, Rajiv Mahajan in presence of Patron, Ved Gandotra. Floral tributes were paid to the noble soul. All the participants observed two minutes silence.
The members threw light over the life history of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Rajiv Mahajan said Gandhiji played a vital role in our freedom struggle. Ahimsa (non-violence) and truth were his weapons, he said adding that Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned several times for his attempts to free India from the bondage of British, yet he never gave up.
"Gandhi proved to the world that freedom can be achieved through the path of non-violence," he said adding that his values and principles are timeless for students of the modern India.
The young generation should also follow the path of sacrifice and patriotism shown by the freedom fighters and martyrs, he advised.
Others were present on the occasion were by Patron-in-Chief, Ved Gandotra, Vice Chairman R.C Puri (retd) KAS, President Prof S.S Bhalwal, General Secretary Karnail Chand, Vice President Pritam Sharma, Advisor Ravinder Mittal and Secretary Parbhat Kapahi.
