| North India motivation tour for border children flagged in | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 20- A warm flag in ceremony was held to welcome back the children who had the opportunity to visit the northern parts of the country at Kalidhar Auditorium. Commander, Kalidhar Brigade of Crossed Swords Division was the chief guest on the occasion. After visiting the National Capital New Delhi, the Pink City Jaipur, Taj Mahal at Agra and Holy city of Amritsar, 35 school children from border areas of Sunderbani arrived back from the dream world of every child who hails from these border areas. It was a lifetime opportunity for these children to visit the heart of our motherland. During the tour the children had the honour to meet the Governor of Rajasthan SK Singh and many other civil and senior military dignitaries. On their halt in Delhi they also visited the Rashtrapati Bhawan. A fully sponsored tour by the Army under Operation Sadbhavana was conducted in a charted bus. Children were provided special kit, free boarding and lodging and visit to places of historical, educational and motivational interest at these four destinations. Speaking on the occasion, Commander, Kalidhar Brigade highlighted the objectives of this tour which was to showcase the rest of India on aspects of cultural diversity co-existence, infrastructure growth and opportunities for personal growth to these children who hail from remote and underdeveloped areas.
