| Ind contestant joints PDP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 20- Abdul Rahim Rather, a prominent leader of Kokernag, joined Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party (PDP) AT a function organized at the residence of party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayed here today. Rather, who contested the recently concluded state assembly elections as an Independent candidate from Kokernag, said that ‘he feels pride in joining PDP which has a clear socio-economic and political agenda that has been received well by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and endorsed by the sub-continental leadership’. Rather further said that PDP has enormously contributed in rebuilding the nation which was crumpling before PDP came into being in 1999. He added that Mufti Muhammad Sayed is the only able leader under whose leadership state could usher in a new era of peace and dignity and it was the moral obligation of all the conscious citizens of the state to strengthen PDP for the good of the people of the nation. Senior PDP leaders, Nizamudin Khatana, Bashir Assad and Seher Iqbal who were also present on the occasion welcomed Rather in the party fold.
