| Ladakh Scouts win National Ice Hockey championship | | | Early Times Report
Leh, Feb 20- Continuing their supremacy in winter sports at the National Level, the Ladakh Scouts won the Fourth National Ice Hockey Championship recently conducted at Leh under the aegis of the Ice Hockey Association of India. The Regiment Team registered an emphatic win over the J and K team in a well contested final match witnessed by a large number of civil and military dignitaries including General Officer Commanding 14 Corps, Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC and Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister, who was the Chief Guest. Seven players of the team have been selected to represent India in the forthcoming Asia Challenge Cup scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) in March 09. Ladakh Scouts Regiment has always been at the forefront to promote Ice-Hockey in the Ladakh Region and has been making special efforts to spot the talent in the sport and provide adequate infrastructure at the Regiment Centre to hone the skills of the sportsmen.
