UDHAMPUR, Feb 1: In an initiative to promote the importance of Bharat Scouts and Guides in career development, the Scouts and Guides Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, organized a two-day camp from January 30 to January 31, 2024. The event, held under the guidance of Prof. Hans Raj, the Principal of the College, aimed to enlighten students on the manifold benefits of being part of the scouts and guides movement.
The camp commenced with a warm welcome note by Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, the Incharge Scouts and Guides, setting the stage for an insightful exploration of the theme, "Importance of scouts and guides in Career Development."
Addressing the students, Prof. Hans Raj urged them to consider joining Bharat Scouts and Guides, emphasizing that participation in such activities fosters self-independence crucial for their future endeavors.
Veena Sharma, the speaker for the event, commenced her lecture by providing a detailed introduction to the Pravesh and Pratham Training for scouts and guides. On the first day, she engaged the participants in learning the Bharat and Scouts Prayer "Daya Kar Gyan Vidhya ka" and familiarized them with the Bharat and Scouts Jhanda Geet. Additionally, she delved into the fundamental history of the scouts and guides movement.
On the second day, Mrs. Veena Sharma delivered an in-depth lecture on the services rendered by Rovers and Rangers to society. She also shared information about the Uniform, different types of Flag, and the Patrol system within the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement. Throughout the camp, students completed Nipun training, showcasing their commitment to the cause.
The participating students demonstrated enthusiasm and gained valuable awareness about the scouts and guides movement. Prof. Hans Raj, the Principal of the college, extended his congratulations to the organizing committee for successfully orchestrating such a significant program.
The organizing committee, comprising Dr. Maansi Sharma, Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Prof. Rekha Sharma, Dr. Akhter Hussain, Dr. Zahoor Mir, Dr. Mahima Bhagat, Dr. Muntazir, and Pradeep Kumar, played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the two-day camp. Their commitment to promoting the ideals of Bharat Scouts and Guides in career development was evident throughout the event.
