Srinagar, Feb 20- Describing the recently held Rajya Sabha elections prima facie illegal, unconstitutional and malifide, Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman of JKNPP today held both the Election Commission of India as well as ruling alliance NC and Congress guilty of the electoral fraud committed to grab all the four seats of the Rajya Sabha from J&K. The legal committee experts in the Panthers Party have advised the Chairman of the party to file a petition in the High Court for quashing the election of the four Rajya Sabha Members on various grounds. The Panthers Party Chairman in consultation with the senior party leaders has decided to file a writ petition in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir challenging the validity of the Rajya Sabha elections from Jammu and Kashmir. In the meanwhile, a meeting of the Kashmir Unit of Panthers Party was held in Srinagar at Panthers Party Rajbagh Headquarters this afternoon. The Panthers Party strongly condemned the J&K Administration for withdrawing security cover of the Panthers Party leaders, particularly, those who contested the recently held Assembly elections and have been a target of the militants. Addressing the Panthers Party workers, several Panthers Party leaders complained that the Congress-NC government has been acting hostile to them and has withdrawn security. Prof. Singh criticized the Chief Minister for withdrawing security vehicle and the security of Farooq Ahmed Dar, a senior Panthers Party leader, who contested recent election against Omar Farooq in Ganderbal. He said that both National Conference and Congress are adamant to eliminate Panthers Party activists in Kashmir with a deliberate attempt to liquidate the voice of dissent in the Valley. Prof Singh warned the State government that the party shall resort to dharna in front of Parliament if the security of the Panthers Party leaders is not restored. Earlier, Prof Singh was given warm welcome by the Panthers Party workers at Srinagar Airport on his arrival from New Delhi after his recovery of head-injury which he suffered on February 2, 2009.
