| RKSP to hold demonstration near Civil Secretariat on Feb 25 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 20- Rashtriya Krantikari Samajwadi Party (RKSP) has decided to hold a demonstration near civil secretariat, on the eve of Budget session commencing from February 25, in protest against the government’s failure to supply the essential commodities to the people of twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar which are presently cut off from the outer world for the last fortnight. The announcement to this effect was made by Party president Tanveer Hussain Babzada here today. He said that despite announcement by the government of supplying essentials to the suffering masses, the fact remains that the people in these two districts are facing acute shortage of essential items of daily use. He demanded initiating of immediate steps to link Doda and Kishtwar with rest of the state through Bani-Bhaderwah road as well as Santhantop-Anantnag road, besides completing the link road between Chamba and Bhaderwah on war footing. He also demanded pressing of chopper services in the cut off areas for the convenience of the stranded people. Conveying his party’s greetings to Kashmiri Pandits on the occasion of forthcoming Mahashivratri Festival, Babzada welcomed the parliamentary panel observation that the people from Kashmir uprooted in the wake of militancy can’t be called as migrants but instead should be treated as displaced persons under forced circumstances. He demanded that the 2-roon tenements at Nagrota and Jagiti should be allotted to the displaced KP families by this Shivratri.
