Water shortage leads to protest demonstration

JAMMU SEPT 20- To register its protest against the acute shortage of drinking water in several parts of Jammu especially in Jammu West Constituency, hundreds of workers of Bhartiya Janta Party Beopar Cell, traders and the residents of Jammu West Constituency today held a protest demonstration and blocked the traffic on High Court road at new plot here.
The demonstrators led by Sunil Dimple State General Secretary BJP Beopar Cell are reported to have burnt the effigies of Chief Minister, acting Chief Minister and Minister for PHE.
Addressing the demonstrators former JMC Mayor and senior BJP leader Kavinder Gupta criticized the coalition government of its failure to provide basic amenities of life and fulfill the promises made with the people.
Sunil Dimple in his address threatened to intensify the stir and appealed the people and the party workers to get united for any sacrifice for the protection of their legitimate rights, a party handout said.
