Chairperson DDC Ramban flags off exposure tour of farmers

JAMMU, Feb 5: Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban Dr. Shamshad Shan today flagged-off a group farmers for 2-day exposure tour to SUKAST-J and Kisan Bhawan, Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu (within UT) under Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) a Central Sponsored Scheme.
The Agriculture Department meticulously organized an exposure visit for 40 progressive farmers, including 15 women farmers, under the able guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary. Deputy Commissioner's leadership directs the visit towards providing farmers with firsthand experiences, exposing them to contemporary agricultural techniques and practices. The primary goal is to instill a culture of innovation and sustainability within the farming community.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson said that such events would help the farmers to acquaint themselves with the best modern agricultural technology and good practices for better production of crops, besides providing them opportunities to interact with the successful farmers who would provide them the expert guidance.
Besides highlighting the significance of new avenues of farming like Bee- keeping and mushroom cultivation, the Chairperson said that to spot the potential of innovative agriculture farming as a source of employment, the government is working to encourage farmers to adopt farming as a business option.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Harbans Lal Sharma, Deputy District election Officer, Lal Chand, Chief Agriculture Officer, Ram Gopal Sharma and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
