Skill development program launched under mission youth AVSAR scheme in Reasi

REASI, Feb 5: District Administration Reasi, in association with Centre for Essential Skills (CES) of IIT Jammu, launched a Skill Development Program, here today. The program, under the Mission Youth AVSAR scheme, aims to impart vocational training on skills specific to cater to the Job Market demands and enhance Entrepreneurial Skills of the youth of Reasi district. The program paved the way for the commencement of the innovative program aims to develop soft and technical specific skills related to Tourism, Videography, Agriculture, Electrical and marketing to equip the youth of Reasi with the necessary skills to give wings to their entrepreneurial ambitions and contribute to job creation & economic development of the region. District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan interacted with the candidates, assuring advanced courses to the best performing individuals. Highlighting the importance of skill development, the DDC said such innovative programs under AVSAR scheme would help to create an illustrious skilled workforce. Dr Manoj Gaur, Director IIT Jammu along with Dr. Amitash Ojha, faculty and HOD CES IIT Jammu emphasized the importance of skill development in empowering the youth and promoting self-reliance and shared the road map and objectives of the skill development program. They highlighted the job opportunities that the youth would have in various industries after gaining essential skills. The Director promised the candidates that they shall be given access to all State of art labs of IIT to promote innovation amongst the talented youth. The District Administration Reasi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Centre for Environmental Science, Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (CES IIT Jammu). The signing ceremony took place at the Auditorium Mini Secretariat Reasi, marking a collaborative effort to implement the AVSAR Scheme.
