JAMMU, Feb 5: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Monday said that the Union Government led by PM Narendra Modi is working for the betterment of all sections of the society.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart said that tabling the Bill for reservation to OBCs in the Parliament is testimony to the fact that dispensation led by PM Modi is committed to raise equitable set-up in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir which was historically marred by lopsided decisions of the erstwhile governments ruling the region.
The senior BJP leader applauded the Modi government's focus on inclusive development, highlighting key policies and schemes that have positively impacted various sections of the population. He also acknowledged the transformative impact of schemes like Ayushman Bharat, lauding the government's dedication to ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for all. He said that putting emphasis on infrastructure development, with initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana the government has proved its mettle in improving living standards across rural and urban contours. He also underscored the government's proactive approach in addressing agricultural challenges through initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, which provides direct income support to farmers. He described the National Education Policy as a landmark step, focusing on holistic reforms to revitalize the education system and empower the youth with relevant skills for the future. He also praised the focus of government on digital connectivity through initiatives like Digital India as the same helped in bridging the urban-rural divide and fostering technological advancement.
Kavinder said that by treading ahead to provide reservation to OBCs in local bodies through the introduction of the aforesaid bill once again the government has given proof of its intent to create India as an inclusive society blocking any kind of discrimination whatsoever. He also emphasized on BJP's dedication towards fostering an inclusive and prosperous India, where every section of society could thrive and contribute to the nation's progress.
