| J K Bank adopts Abtal Village | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21: Fulfilling its commitment to the people of Jammu & Kashmir to take banking to their doorsteps and empower them, the J & K Bank, Zonal Office Jammu (Central) organized a village adoption function at Abtal village, Ramgarh Distt. Samba. The function was presided over by District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mr. Saurabh Bhagat and was largely attended by most of the Departmental heads of Samba district, representatives of government agencies and local people.
In his inaugural address the Vice President, Jammu Central Zone Mr. Madan Gupta congratulated the villagers for having come on the road to prosperity as the bank had adopted their village for all their financial needs. Mr.Gupta said that in pursuit of the bank’s objective of ‘serving to empower’ they would be providing a bouquet of world class banking products and services and the bank’s endeavour would be not only to provide financial solutions to the peoples problems, but also to ameliorate the lot of the masses, to bring economic development to their area and to make them self-reliant. He said that each and every family of this village would be provided an effective bank linkage that would uplift their social and economic status. He informed the audience that in a recent agreement between the bank and the state Govt regarding E-Governance, the bank would also make efforts to enhance computer literacy and employment generation in their area. Acknowledging the patronage and support of its wider clientele network, the Vice President said that J & K Bank owes its success to the love and affection of the people and the faith that they reposed in this premier institution of the state.
The District Development Commissioner Samba, appreciated the initiative of the bank and urged the people to take maximum benefit of various schemes of the bank and raise their standard of living. He told the villagers that this was a golden opportunity for them to progress in life by making an honest use of bank funds and come clean on repayment. The Vice President also sanctioned on spot more than eighty loan cases comprising of Kisan Credit Cards, retail trade loans, DRI loans, tractor loan and housing loans, sanction letters of all of which were handed over to the beneficiaries by the Chief Guest, District Development Commissioner, Mr. Saurabh Bhagat. The villagers hailed the initiative of the bank and assured their full cooperation to the bank.
