| Batwal community demand representation in upper house | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21- The urban Batwal community, at a meeting held at Krishna Nagar today, discussed the problems being faced by its members. The meeting discussed various problems confronting the community and listed various demands that needed to be addressed by the government at the earliest. The demand included special economic and employment package; social welfare scholarship to all students; old age pensions to all hapless old persons; handicap pensions to blind and handicapped persons; regularization of all daily wagers/special police officials (SPO’s) working in various government civil and police department; nominations of plus two medical and non medical students to professional institutions for pursuing MBBS/ Engineering courses; representation in the upper house and important government forums; and creation of a supernumerary part of assistant registrar in the university of Jammu for R.L. Kaith. The community has impressed upon the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand to raise these demands before the state cabinet for consideration and early action.
