NCC cadets from GDC Udhampur receive ADG appreciation for Republic Day parade participation

UDHAMPUR, Feb 7: Government Degree Boys College (GDC), Udhampur, celebrates a moment of pride as two of its NCC cadets, Cadet Swati Thakur and Cadet Vinay Kumar, from 2 J&K Girls Battalion and 2 J&K Boys Battalion respectively, receive appreciation from the Additional Director General (ADG) for their outstanding participation in the Republic Day Parade held in New Delhi on January 26, 2024.
Cadet Swati Thakur marched proudly along Kartvyapath (Rajpath) as a member of the NCC Contingent. Notably, she also had the honor of piloting for the Lieutenant Governor of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, Sh. Manoj Sinha, and Additional Director General NCC JK&L Directorate, Maj. Gen. RK Sachdeva. On the other hand, Cadet Vinay Kumar showcased his skills as a part of the NCC Contingent JK&L Directorate during the Prime Minister's Rally.
Both cadets underwent rigorous two and a half months of drill training at NCC Camping Grounds in Nagrota and New Delhi to prepare for their prestigious roles.
Professor (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, the Principal of GDC Udhampur, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Cadets Swati Thakur and Vinay Kumar for their commendable selection and participation in the Republic Day Parade and Prime Minister's Rally. He lauded their dedication, hard work, and discipline, urging them to serve as role models for their peers and actively contribute to curbing the menace of drug abuse among the youth.
Professor Captain Shivani Sharma (ANO, Girls Wing) and Professor Vijay Kumar (ANO, Boys Wing) were also acknowledged for their consistent efforts in nurturing and grooming the cadets, which led to their remarkable achievements, bringing honor to the college.
The accolades bestowed upon Cadets Swati Thakur and Vinay Kumar stand as a testament to their exemplary commitment and the institution's dedication to fostering leadership and discipline among its students.
