2/7/2024 9:53:26 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 7: In a significant breakthrough, the Jammu Police have successfully dismantled a vehicle theft racket operating in the region, leading to the recovery of stolen items and the apprehension of a suspect. The operation stems from a complaint lodged by Raj Singh of Nadore Nagrota, Jammu, regarding the theft of his battery on February 3, 2024, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities. Following the complaint, Case FIR 43.2024 U/S 379/IPC was registered at Police Station Nagrota, with the investigation assigned to IO PSI Mohd Zahid. Leveraging a combination of technical evidence and human intelligence, the investigative team zeroed in on a suspect identified as Mohd Amjad, hailing from Belini Pull Nagrota.
Under sustained questioning, Mohd Amjad confessed to his involvement in the theft reported by Raj Singh, leading to the recovery of the stolen battery. Moreover, his disclosure unraveled a broader network of criminal activity, resulting in the recovery of several stolen vehicles:
One Alto Car with registration number JK02P7767, reported stolen in Case FIR No. 18.2024 U/S 379/IPC of PS Satwari. One Motorcycle bearing registration No. JK02DG0235, snatched in Case FIR 09/2024 U/S 382/34/IPC of PS Gangyal.
One Mahindra Tractor Trolley without a number, stolen in Case FIR 10/2024 U/S 379/IPC of PS RS Pura.
One Motorcycle with registration No. JK02AH6815.
The swift action and diligent investigation by the Jammu Police have not only led to the recovery of stolen property but have also resulted in the apprehension of a key suspect involved in multiple criminal cases. The crackdown underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order and protect the interests of the community.
