Illicit liquor, alprazolam, tramadol tablets seized; two arrested by Reasi police

REASI, Feb 7: District Police Reasi under the supervision of SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma-IPS arrested drug peddler and illicit liquor Smuggler and recovered banned drug alprazolam and tramadol tablets, illicit liquor from their possession.
Team of Reasi Police at Naka Searli during checking and frisking of vehicles noticed suspicious movement and stopped one person who was on his way from Panthal side to Katra Town and was holding a sack bag. On checking the bag, 23 quarters (250 ml each) of JK Special Whiskey recovered from his possession. On questioning, the person disclosed his identity as Prem Singh S/O Shiv Ram R/o W.No. 13, Katra. On this case FIR No 41/2024 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at Police Station Katra and accused arrested.
In another incident, Police party of P/S Katra while on patrolling duty at Chintamani Katra stopped one person who was on his way from Katra side to Chintamani. On checking the bag, one strip of Tramadol IP 50 mg containing 10 tablets and 05 strips of Alprazolam 0.50 mg (containing 10 tables each) were recovered from his possession. On questioning, the person disclosed his identity as Mohan Lal S/o Sandokhu Ram R/o W.No. 11 Arli Hansali, Katra. On this a case FIR number 42/2024 US 8/21/22 NDPS got registered at Police Station Katra and investigation initiated to unearth the backward and forward link.
SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma-IPS conveyed that drug abuse is a cause of concern for today's world and time has come that people from all sections of society should come forward and join hands with Police in the war against drug abuse to eradicate this menace from society and save our future generations.
