BLSKS Celebrates Mauni Amavasya with Enthusiasm in Jammu

Jammu, Feb 9: In a vibrant celebration of Mauni Amavasya 2024, the Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) organized a cultural awareness program in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production at Juggi Jompadi, Shant Nagar in Jammu. The event marked the presentation of the 402nd Friday Series Musical Play titled “Shiv Mahima,” which aimed to promote the traditional Duggar Culture of Jammu and Kashmir.
The musical play “Shiv Mahima,” written, produced, and directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, was inaugurated by Sh. V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director of the Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India.
Sh. J.K. Raina, Freelancer Producer and Director of Films, Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra from the Directorate of Health J&K Government, Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director of the Health Department, and Mukesh Singh, a Media Person from Jammu, graced the event as Guests of Honor.
The program commenced with spirited performances of songs such as “Laga Gran Sare Sehtu Da Mela,” “Jai Jai Ganage,” and “Ganga Tera Pani Amrit,” accompanied by lively dances.
The musical compositions for the play were crafted by Sh. Raju Bajgal, a Music Instructor at BLSKS, adding depth and richness to the performances.
The significance of Mauni Amavasya, dedicated to honoring ancestors and predecessors, was elucidated, emphasizing the observance of rituals and the practice of silence (mauna vrata) for spiritual elevation.
Sh. M.C. Kotwal, Secretary of BLSKS, highlighted the aims and objectives of the program, emphasizing the collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the State Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s Health Department for mass awareness.
Renowned artists and students pledged to eradicate social evils and foster national unity, culminating in a mesmerizing performance by singers, musicians, actors, and students of music and computer institutes.
