| Pathania demands redeployment of Army in Basantgarh area | | |

Jammu, Feb 21- Criticizing, the powers that be, for sudden and uncalled for withdrawal
of Army from Lodhra, Punara, Karothu, Sang Lalon Gala and other higher reaches of
Basantgarh and further terming it as a ‘deep rooted conspiracy’ aimed at jeopardizing the
security and well being of the people living in these areas, R S Pathania, Advocate, who
also unsuccessfully contested the assembly election from Ramnagar constituency, has
urged the Defence Minister to redeploy the army in these areas at the earliest.
In a communication addressed to the Union Defence Minister A R Antony, Pathania said that due to the onset of militancy the inhabitants of these far off reaches had migrated to safer places but it was only after permanent stationing of Army there the people came back to their homes and hearths. He said that it seems that the agencies which have given feed back for return of Army are against the welfare and well being of the civil society living in Basantgarh.
Pathania drew the attention of the Defence Minister towards the safe escape of militants from the area a day before and demanded complete overall of the agency/security apparatus in Jammu and Kashmir and giving new look to it in view of the fresh threat emerging out from fresh infiltrations.
