GDC RS Pura leads awareness drive for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

RS PURA, Feb 10: In a concerted effort to combat the scourge of drug addiction and promote a healthier lifestyle, Government Degree College R. S. Pura took proactive steps by organizing an impactful 'Pledge and Awareness Lecture' on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The event, held on February 10th, 2024, saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, all committed to the cause under the able leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Bhagat, the esteemed Principal of the college.
The initiative, orchestrated by the Drug De-addiction/Nasha Mukt Committee in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club and NCC unit, aimed to enlighten and empower individuals against the pitfalls of substance abuse. Prof. Neelam Kumari, the Convener of the Drug De-addiction/Nasha Mukt Committee, delivered an impassioned lecture, underscoring the transformative vision of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. She emphasized the importance of community vigilance and support systems in steering individuals away from the clutches of addiction.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rajni Bhagat lauded the commendable efforts of the organizing committee and urged students to embrace a drug-free lifestyle. Stressing the significance of spiritual and physical well-being, she encouraged the adoption of practices such as meditation and active participation in sports activities.
The event witnessed active participation from faculty members including Prof. Sankait Gupta, Prof. Meeshu Pandita, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, Prof. Rajinder Singh, and Dr. Rekha Rani, who collectively pledged their commitment to abstain from drug consumption and advocate for a drug-free society.
The 'Pledge and Awareness Lecture' served as a rallying call for collective action against substance abuse, reaffirming the college's dedication to nurturing responsible and empowered citizens. With such initiatives, Government Degree College R. S. Pura continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a healthier and drug-free tomorrow for the nation.
