Special camps for electoral roll revision held across Ramban
2/10/2024 9:47:53 PM

Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Feb 10: Under the directives of District Panchayat Election Officer, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, a team of election officials led by Deputy District Election Officer, Lal Chand, conducted visits to Special Camps held at various panchayats across the district today.
The primary objective of these special camps was to facilitate the registration of eligible voters in the Panchayat E-Roll and to bridge any existing gaps between the mother roll and Panchayat electoral rolls. The revision process for the Panchayat Electoral Roll commenced on January 15 and will continue until February 12, 2024. During this period, new voters as well as those who have been left out have the opportunity to enroll by submitting Form PER-2A through their respective Panchayat Electoral Booth Officers (PEBOs).
During the inspection of polling station locations, PEBOs were urged to ensure the completion and accuracy of the electoral roll by conducting door-to-door visits and maintaining population registers of their respective areas. During the scheduled Special camps, PEBOs, along with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), will be available at their designated polling station locations with sufficient forms for addition and deletion.
The camps witnessed a significant turnout of local residents and BLOs, emphasizing the community's active participation in the electoral process. The PEBOs were further encouraged to raise awareness among the public during the revision period.
