Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 10: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has reacted strongly to the removal of guards from ATM booths by banks, to leave ATM on "Ram Bharose" and fearing an increase in cases of fraud and cyber crime.
In a press conference organized at the party state central office today, state chief Manish said that unemployment is emerging as the biggest problem in the country today. While on one hand the government is trying every possible effort to reduce unemployment on the other hand most of the national and private banks are thwarting the government's efforts by removing guards from ATM booths.
Talking about Jammu and Kashmir Bank alone having 1500 ATMs in the state while the number of ATMs of various banks is around 4000. Where guards are deployed in two shifts. Due to this decision, clouds of unemployment have started looming over about eight thousand people.
Along with this, questions have also been raised on the security of ATMs. Consumers are beginning to fear fraud. Sahni said that unguarded ATMs can be easily targeted by cyber criminals or fraudsters. At the same time, in the name of helping people by tampering with ATM machines, the fear of withdrawing money from their accounts has also started troubling them.
Sahni has appealed to keep the ATM services open 24*7 and to reconsider the decision of removing the guards. Sahni said that he will soon meet the Regional Director of RBI and submit a memorandum regarding the above demands. On this occasion President mehila wing Meenakshi Chhibber, Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, vice president Sanjeev Kohli were present.
