NSS special winter camp inaugurated at GDC RS Pura

JAMMU, Feb 12: A Seven Days Special Winter Camp is being organized by the NSS unit of Govt. Degree College R.S.Pura from 12th February 2024 to 19th February 2024 under the Patronship of worthy principal of the college Dr. Rajni Bhagat and Supervision of Dr. Chanchal Angral, NSS PO. Every year, special winter camp is organized with a duration of seven days in different part of the country involving NSS volunteers to undertake the scheduled activities. In this context, a week long NSS winter special camp was inagurated today on 12th February, 2024 with the theme "Youth for eco development" . The program started with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the worthy principal of the college and other faculty members. At the outset, the principal of the college, motivated the participants for such activities as students through such activities develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility. The programme began with the welcome address by Dr. Chanchal Angral (NSS PO). She said the very motto of organizing such camp is to motivate the NSS volunteers to serve for the community development. She exhorted that such camps provide unique opportunity to the NSS volunteers for group living, collective experiencing sharing and constant interaction with the community. After the inaugural ceremony a cleanliness drive was conducted in the college campus where about 40 students participated and cleaned different areas of the college and segregated de-gradeable and non-degrdable waste. The programme ended with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Hari Singh. Prof. Shifali Abrol and Prof. Nitti Chibber also attended the programme. Principal of the college appreciated the hard work of the NSS coordinator and volunteers.
