JAMMU, Feb 13: National Service Scheme (NSS) units, GGM Science College took proactive steps towards fostering civic responsibility by organizing a Voter Awareness Programme in collaboration with the District Election Cell under the banner of SVEEP. The initiative aimed to educate and empower students and the community at large about the importance of exercising their voting rights.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. Various activities were conducted throughout the day, including informative workshops, interactive sessions, and awareness campaigns.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Rajesh Gupta, Principal of College expressed gratitude towards the NSS units and emphasized the significance of active participation in the democratic process.
Students of NSS units were given hands -on training of EVMs. The aim of this collaborative effort, was to cultivate a culture of informed decision-making and civic engagement among the youth, thereby contributing to the strengthening of democracy. |
