J&K Junior Softball Team selected for Championship

JAMMU, Feb 13: The Junior Softball Team of Jammu and Kashmir has been meticulously selected after rigorous screening by the Screening Committee of the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council. The selection process, held at the New Indoor Sports Complex, M.A. Stadium, Jammu, was overseen by Divisional Sports Officer, Sh. Baljinder Pal Singh, and other esteemed members of the Screening Committee.
The selection of the team comes after the commencement of a 15-day residential coaching camp organized by the J&K Softball Association at the Football Ground, Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu. The coaching camp, led by appointed coaches Mohmad Iqbal Beigh, Sagar Chib, and Amit Sharma, aims to enhance the skills and team coordination of the athletes in preparation for the upcoming championship.
The 41st Edition of the Junior National Softball Championship is scheduled to take place in Patna, Bihar, from February 21 to 25, 2024. The selected team underwent screening in the presence of Waseem Raja Khan, Hony. General Secretary of the J&K Softball Association, and Harvinder Singh, Chief Coach of J&K Softball, along with other renowned athletes of the sport.

Bhat Talat Khurshid, Athar Hussain, Salik Ashraf, Aman Ali, Faisal Hussain, Zain Ul Ashraf, Amaan Ajaz, Zehran Habib, Irshad Hussain, Sandeep Singh, Nitin Sharma, Padam Dev Singh, Mahul Singh, Shivam Singh, Vansh Charak and Zahid Fayaz Khan
Standby Athletes: Mohd Amaan Rather and Asrar Majeed
The team will be accompanied by Sh. Mohmad Iqbal Beigh as Coach and Mr. Arif Hussain as Manager. The championship, organized by the Bihar Softball Association under the aegis of the Softball Association of India, will witness the participation of the J&K UT Junior Team, representing the J&K Softball Association and sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.
