Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 13: This morning, the Police Party of PP Manwal made a significant interception at the Nadal checkpoint, halting two vehicles traveling from Battal/Samba towards Udhampur/Kashmir side.
The first vehicle, a truck with registration number JK02AG-2837, was discovered to be transporting 10 bovine animals in a manner deemed merciless and cruel by authorities. Similarly, the second vehicle, another truck bearing registration number JK02AN-8175, was found loaded with an additional 10 bovine animals, all suffering due to lack of proper care, including food and water.
The total count of bovine animals found in distress amounted to 25 across the two vehicles. What exacerbated the situation further was the absence of any valid permission from the District Magistrate (DM) for such transportation.
Prompt action was taken by the police, resulting in the seizure of both vehicles involved in the illicit transportation. Additionally, all 25 bovine animals were rescued from their cruel conditions, providing them with the necessary care they urgently required.
This incident highlights the ongoing issue of animal cruelty and illegal transportation in the region. Law enforcement agencies are determined to crack down on such activities and ensure the safety and welfare of animals. Investigations into the matter are underway, and strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for such inhumane treatment of animals. Citizens are urged to report any similar instances to aid in preventing such cruelty in the future.
