GDC RS Pura cultivates aromatic garden in special winter camp initiative

JAMMU, Feb 14: In a commendable initiative aligned with the ongoing Special Winter Camp at Government Degree College (GDC) R. S. Pura, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit unveiled an aromatic garden on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami. Led by the esteemed Principal of the college, Dr. Rajni Bhagat, and under the diligent supervision of NSS Programme Officer Dr. Chanchal Angral, the third day of the camp witnessed a transformative tree plantation drive and the creation of a fragrant oasis within the campus premises.
Dr. Rajni Bhagat, inaugurated the newly established aromatic garden by planting the inaugural sapling, symbolizing the college's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable living practices. In her address, she underscored the importance of civic responsibility in fostering clean, healthy, and sustainable communities. Dr. Bhagat called upon all governmental and non-governmental entities to enthusiastically participate in initiatives aimed at creating a better, brighter, and more harmonious world.
Echoing Dr. Bhagat's sentiments, Dr. Chanchal Angral, NSS Programme Officer, encouraged students to actively engage in such activities, emphasizing their dual role in both campus development and personal growth. The involvement of NSS committee members, Dr. Hari Singh and Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, along with dedicated NSS students, exemplified the collaborative spirit driving the success of the initiative.
