Gaurav Gupta advocates for development of Jammu region, meets CS Atal Dulloo

JAMMU, Feb 14: Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu, engaged in a constructive dialogue with Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, to champion the cause of development in the Jammu region. The meeting saw Gupta submitting a detailed memorandum, highlighting crucial areas where development initiatives are imperative to unlock the region's full potential.
Recognizing the significant strides made in development and progress under the leadership of Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Gupta emphasized the need to extend these efforts to ensure equitable growth across all parts of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
During the discourse, Gupta shed light on the historical neglect faced by Jammu Province, particularly in comparison to other regions. He emphasized the urgency to prioritize and promote tourism sites across the Jammu region, especially in areas with untapped potential such as Dudu, Basantgarh, Patnitop, Bani, Basholi, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, and Bhadarwah. Gupta proposed leveraging successful initiatives like hosting international events such as the G20 Summit in Patnitop to spotlight the picturesque areas of Jammu Province.
In his memorandum, Gupta accentuated the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and economic potential of the Jammu region, advocating for global recognition to attract investments, tourists, and collaborations. He called for the involvement of major private players in the tourism industry to invest in the development of these areas, citing their expertise and resources as invaluable assets in enhancing infrastructure and amenities.
Gupta also expressed appreciation for the intensified efforts towards the ongoing Artificial Lake project on River Tawi, citing its immense promise in enhancing the aesthetic appeal and recreational opportunities in the region. He commended Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo for his leadership and dedication to the advancement of Jammu and Kashmir, expressing optimism about the region's bright future under his guidance.
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo attentively listened to the issues raised by Gaurav Gupta, acknowledging the importance of addressing the developmental needs of the Jammu region. He assured Gupta of the administration's unwavering commitment to fostering inclusive growth and prosperity in all parts of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
