| OBCS demand amendments in SRO 144 | | |

The other Backward Classes held a meeting under the chairmanship of Javed Ahmed (Publicity Secretary of Dhobi Biradari J&K) at Aghar Jitto, Chamiara, Tehsil And District Reasi with the proposed amendment to the provisions of SRO 144 and 27% reservation. They discussed about the reservation which is given by The Supreme Court of India on Mandal Commission Report, But the reservation given by the Sup Court is not implemented yet by the state government for OBC.The Govt. of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad Agreed 27% reservation to 10%, but this 10% is not given yet. They meet every minister of state goes to secretrait and goes even in their homes for OBC quota but they didnot act upon them. Due to no OBC quota, the students of the said quota are suffering and thereby also creating unemployment in our state for OBC. We the members of OBC appeal to the Honourable Cheif Minister Of Jammu And Kashmir State Jenab Omar Abdullah to kindly look upon the actual condition prevailing in the state. They also appeal the present government to take the member of OBC for Legislative Council and give 27% reservation immediately and made an Avisory Board for OBC in Jammu And Kashmir State.
Prominent among those who addressed the gathering including Krishan Lal, Mohan Lal, Mohd.Hussain, Milkhi Ram, Mohd Sadaq, Mohd. Altaf, Rakesh Kumar, Bansi Lal,Mohd. Gafoor, Kadeer Hussain, Mohd.Aslam, Abdul Ghani and other hundred members of OBC from different places of Jammu and Kashmir.
