Govt PG College Rajouri spearheads "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abiyan"

RAJOURI, Feb 15: In a fervent effort towards fostering a drug-free nation, Govt. PG College Rajouri orchestrated a series of impactful activities under the esteemed banner of the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan," in collaboration with the Nasha-Mukt committee and NSS Unit of the college, along with IQAC.
The event commenced with a warm welcome extended by Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, the convener of the Nasha Mukt Committee, who also underscored the significance of such initiatives. Presiding over the event was the esteemed Principal of Govt. P.G college, Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, emphasizing the institution's commitment to combating substance abuse.
The event unfolded with three distinct activities:
Student Seminar: A plethora of students actively participated in a seminar, fervently presenting their perspectives on the pivotal theme, "Role of higher education institutions in spreading awareness against Substance abuse."
Extension Lecture: Renowned Professor Khaleeq Ahmed, NSS Programme Officer, delivered an enlightening lecture on the theme "KNOW DRUGS NO DRUGS," elucidating the detrimental impacts of substance abuse while emphasizing collective efforts towards prevention.
Pledge Ceremony: A solemn pledge ceremony ensued in the college playground, where faculty members and students alike fervently vowed to combat drug abuse. Professor Khaleeq Ahmed administered the pledge, symbolizing collective determination against this societal menace.
The event also witnessed insightful addresses from distinguished personalities including Prof. Iqbal Raina, HoD Physics and District Nodal Officer SVEEP, who exhorted the youth to uphold rationality and actively oppose social vices.
Principal Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, in his presidential address, reiterated the pivotal role of students as societal ambassadors in the fight against substance abuse. He reaffirmed the college administration's unwavering commitment towards eradicating drug abuse and trafficking in the vicinity. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of various faculty members, including Dr. Lateef Mir, Prof. Ayaz Ahmed, Prof. Mohd Khaliq, Prof. Joginder Singh, and several others, whose support bolstered the success of the event.
Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Coordinator IQAC, extended formal gratitude, marking the culmination of the program. The resounding success of the event underscores Govt. PG College Rajouri's staunch dedication towards fostering a healthier, drug-free society, resonating with the overarching vision of "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan."
