Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, Feb 15: The NSS unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur took a commendable stride towards promoting civic engagement by hosting an online quiz competition centered around the theme of "Voting Rights," as part of the Voting Awareness Campaign. The initiative, steered by the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. (Prof.) Vandana Gupta, aimed to instill a deep sense of responsibility among students towards the fundamental act of casting their votes.
The quiz, meticulously crafted to educate and engage students on the significance of voting in shaping a conducive governance system, garnered enthusiastic participation from the college's student body and NSS volunteers. Utilizing the digital platform to its fullest potential, the quiz was conducted via Google Form, offering students a novel experience in acquiring knowledge in a technologically-driven environment.
Questions encompassed various aspects related to voting rights, including the registration process, casting votes, and pertinent electoral procedures. The competition not only served as an avenue for learning but also as a platform for fostering a deeper understanding of democratic principles among the participants.
Riya Sharma of Sem VI clinched the coveted first position, showcasing exemplary knowledge and dedication. Arti Devi of Sem VI secured the second position, while Vishali of Sem II demonstrated commendable proficiency to secure the third position.
The successful execution of the quiz owes much to the coordination efforts led by Dr. Manoj Heer, H.O.D. Dept. of Dogri, along with the invaluable contributions of Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences), who served as co-coordinators. The unwavering support and patronage of faculty members including Prof. Anita Jamwal, Prof. Mamta Gupta, Dr. Anoop Bhagat, Prof. Ritu Bhagat, Prof. Poonam Kundan, and Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal further bolstered the event's success.
