Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 15: In a commendable stride towards promoting menstrual hygiene awareness and empowering women, J&K Bank, in collaboration with Live for Others - Being Helpful Foundation, celebrates the successful completion of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, "Mission R-SAP (Remove Shyness Apply Pads)," in Ganderbal district. This milestone marks the 15th district covered under the mission, with significant achievements in disseminating crucial information and providing essential resources.
The initiative, which aims to eradicate taboos surrounding menstruation, has made substantial progress by distributing over 16,500 sanitary napkins and conducting three impactful awareness seminars in Ganderbal. These seminars, held in both government and private schools, including Hyderia Model High School, Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School (Nunnar and Kangan), have reached more than 1,650 individuals, contributing to a positive shift in perception and practices related to menstrual health. The resource persons for these seminars, Ayesha, Hafsa, and Ms. Gulnaz, played a pivotal role in delivering insightful sessions aimed at raising awareness and promoting hygiene practices among women and girls.
Expressing delight at the initiative's progress, Shah Amir, Joint Secretary of the National Body LFO-BHF, highlighted the positive impact on women's health and eagerly anticipated the expansion of the initiative to other districts, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the implementing team.
Acknowledging the collaborative effort, LFO-BHF extends gratitude to the Director of School Education Kashmir, C.E.O Ganderbal, and the Principals of all participating schools. Special recognition is reserved for J&K Bank for organizing this impactful activity through their CSR fund, as affirmed by Ms. Urfee, Vice-President of Kashmir Province.
Key members, including Urfee, Haadi Hameed, Danish, Afreen Barkat, Sheikh Shahid, among others, were present during the activity, demonstrating collective commitment towards fostering menstrual health awareness and women's empowerment in the region.
