| Jodhamal School Celebrates Annual Day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 22 – Minister for Industries & Commerce, Labour and Employment, Mr. Surjit Singh Slathia has called upon the teaching community for imparting moral education to students, which is necessary for laying foundation for strong mental and physical characters in them. He said that teachers have a great role to play in inculcating these traits among the students. Mr. Slathia said this here today at the Annual Day function of Jodhamal Junior Public School, where he was the Chief Guest. A large number of students, teachers and the parents of wards were present on the occasion. The Minister said that J&K was lagging in the education sector for long, but of late, it has now become a centre of quality education. “Students from other parts of the country are coming to the State for higher studies”, he said, adding that thousands of them are studying in different educational institutes in the State. Lauding the contribution of both the Government and private educational institutions for improving the standard of education in the State, the Minister said they have contributed a lot towards achieving the goal of 100 per cent literacy in the State. The Minister also complimented the School management and said the institute has greatly contributed in imparting quality education among its students. Later, Mr. Slathia distributed trophies and certificates among the students who excelled in academic and co-curricular activities. The Principal of the institute presented the annual report of the school. Earlier, the school tiny-tots presented skits and a colourful cultural programme on the occasion which was highly applauded by the audience.
