Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 16: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units of Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua actively participated in a Voter's Awareness Campaign 2024 aimed at promoting voter education and participation. Under the guidance of the esteemed Principal of the college, Prof. Seema Mir, the NSS Units organized two activities on February 15th and 16th, 2024, as part of the ongoing awareness campaign.
The theme of the campaign, "Noting like voting, I vote for sure," resonated throughout the event, emphasizing the importance of exercising one's democratic right to vote.
On February 15th, a rally was conducted within the college premises, where NSS volunteers enthusiastically chanted slogans to raise awareness about the significance of casting votes in the upcoming elections. The vibrant rally aimed to inspire students and staff members to fulfill their civic duty by participating in the electoral process.
Continuing the momentum, on February 16th, a Voter's Pledge Ceremony was organized at the NSS park of the college. Several students, alongside NSS volunteers, participated in taking the pledge to uphold their responsibility towards democracy by actively participating in the electoral process.
During both activities, Principal Prof. Seema Mir emphasized the importance of voter enrollment and urged students not to miss the opportunity to cast their votes judiciously during elections. Her words resonated with the participants, encouraging them to become informed and responsible voters.
The successful execution of these activities was made possible through the dedicated efforts of NSS Program Officers, Dr. Kulbir Singh, Prof. Arvind Kumar, and Dr. Pinkey, who provided valuable guidance and support throughout the campaign.
The NSS Units of GDC Kathua remain committed to fostering civic engagement and social responsibility among students, contributing to the nation-building process through initiatives like the Voter's Awareness Campaign.
