AIIMS organizes Breast Cancer Awareness program at JCP

JAMMU, Feb 16: In line with its mission of serving the community and promoting health awareness, the Department of General Surgery, in collaboration with the Department of Pathology, Radiology and Community Medicine from "All India Institute of Medical Sciences Vijaypur, Jammu" organized a "Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Programme" on 16.02.2024 for students of "Jammu College of Physiotherapy (JCP)".
A team comprising seven faculty members and three Senior Residents (Dr Sushma Bhardwaj, Dr Varun Dogra, Dr Julie, Dr Suneha Kumari, Dr Shalli, Dr Geeta Devi, Dr Bindu Goria, Dr Rishab Gupta and Dr Fatima Sogra) from various departments of AIIMS Jammu, led by Dr. Maria Suri, enlightened the faculty and students of JCP about the risk factors associated with Breast Cancer and the importance of early screening and detection. Subsequently, a practical workshop on breast examination for the screening of breast cancer was conducted for the students. Dr. Navinderpal Singh, the Principal of the college, extended gratitude to the AIIMS team for organizing such an informative program and expressed appreciation to the Chairperson of the college, Suman Sharma, and the college management for their support in facilitating such initiatives.
