PM Vishwakarma: Skill Dev Department Starts Training in two more Trades at ITI Doda

DODA, Feb 17: The prestigious PM Vishwakarma Scheme was launched in Government ITI Doda on 23rd of January 2024 with the inauguration of Training for first batch of 27 trainees (Vishwakarmas) in Darzi (Tailor) Trade by the District Development Commissioner Harvinder Singh.
As per directions from JKUT Administration, Skill Development Department & District Administration Doda, today started Training in two more Trades viz. Mason (Raajmistri) & Carpenter (Suthar) in view of huge applications received in the district.
The Programme launched virtually by the Director Skill Development J&K Sudarshan Kumar, was also attended by Joint Director Skill Development Jammu Er. G.M Bhatt, Er. Ravi Gupta Assistant Director, Directorate of Skill Development, Ex-MC Councilor Ramesh Kumar, Representative of GM DIC Doda, Superintendent and staff of ITI Doda among other dignitaries.
The welcome address was delivered by Superintendent ITI Doda Naresh Singh, who thanked the Director Skill Development for starting the 5-day Basic Skill Training in two more trades in Govt. ITI Doda.
He briefed that till date two batches of 62 candidates have successfully completed training and two more batches of 80 candidates are undergoing training in Tailor (Darzi) Trade besides fresh Training course in Mason (16 Candidates) and Carpenter (32 Candidates). He assured the Director Skill Development to impart best Skill training to the eligible beneficiaries in the courses identified for Govt. ITI Doda as Training Center (TC).
Ramesh Kumar, Member District level Implementation Committee advised the beneficiaries present to take maximum benefit of the Scheme launched by the Prime Minister of India.
He stressed upon all Traditional Craftsmen who are working in 18 identified trades in their respective areas to immediately register on PM Vishwakarma portal and take the help of BDO/Panchayat Secretary concerned for any type of assistance required so that the young generation become village entrepreneurs & participate in the economic growth of the country.
Director Skill Development J&K Sudershan Kumar), in his address, mentioned that PMVY is an ambitious initiative of the Central Government launched in September 2023 by the Prime Minister of India.
This scheme aims for recognition of artisans and crafts of people through PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID cards as well as Basic Skill Training of 5-7 days and advance Training of 15 days along with the Stipend of Rs.500 per day. He also asked beneficiaries to immediately apply online for getting the Free Tool kit amounting to Rs 15000/- at their doorsteps through e-voucher generated in their respective IDs after completion of Basic Training.
He further briefed that beneficiaries would also be applicable for getting Collateral loans up to Rs 3 lakhs on a concessional 5 percent rate of interest with interest subvention cap of 8% to be paid by MOMSME, beside services such as Quality Certification, Branding & Promotion, E-commerce linkage, Trade fair advertising, publicity and other marketing activities by National Committee for Marketing (NCM).
The Director Skill Development assured the gathering that each ITI in JKUT including ITI Doda will be registered in at least 5 trades having large no of applications under the Scheme.
He also emphasized that the PMVY is for encouraging the entrepreneurship values among the artisans and workers. He highlighted the importance of Skill Development in empowering the youth and contributing to the nation’s economic growth so as to make India “a Viksit Bharat’’ in 2047. He expressed satisfaction that a large number of female beneficiaries have registered to avail the benefits of the scheme which will ensure Gender Empowerment. He lauded the efforts of District Administration Doda and Govt. ITI Doda for starting Training in three trades of PMVY Scheme in District Doda and ensured the support of Skill Development Department for implementation of Scheme
