JAMMU, Feb 17: In a proactive measure to equip law enforcement personnel with the latest legal frameworks, the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) in Udhampur organized a special session today, February 17, 2024. The session was dedicated to introducing three newly enacted criminal laws: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita - 2023, Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita-2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam-2023.
Under the guidance of Shri Garib Dass, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Director of SKPA, the session aimed at familiarizing Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (Prob. Dy.SP) and SKPA staff with the intricacies of these recent legal statutes.
Director Garib Dass emphasized the underlying principles and significant amendments embedded within these new laws. Officers were provided with comprehensive insights into the legislative changes, ensuring they are well-prepared to tackle contemporary challenges in law enforcement.
Furthermore, the session facilitated interactive discussions, allowing participants to delve deeper into the nuances of the new legislation and compare them with the older laws. This engagement not only enhanced their understanding but also equipped them with the necessary skills to apply these laws effectively in their field duties.
The initiative reflects SKPA's unwavering commitment to providing holistic and up-to-date training to law enforcement personnel. By keeping its officers abreast of the latest legal developments, SKPA reaffirms its dedication to maintaining high standards of professionalism and ensuring the safety and security of the community.
