2/17/2024 9:56:39 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 17: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Jammu South Rekha Mahajan, stated in context with the upcoming mega public rally that daughters of J&K should express gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting on 20 February at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu union territory of J&K. She urged all daughters, particularly those from rural and urban areas of Jammu South, to join this mega rally as it is considered a historic moment. Rekha said Article 370 was a hurdle for the development of Jammu and Kashmir. "It gave only separatism, terrorism, nepotism, and corruption to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. She counted that J&K could not develop like the rest of the country. But now, the future of the citizens here will improve," she said, adding that J&K which was known as paradise on earth, would again attract the world.
While interacting with the group of women, under the Shaktivandan program (NGO and Self-help group Sampark Campaign) Rekha Mahajan hails the efforts of women. She said that no Prime Minister since Independence has been as sensitive as PM Modi has been towards daughters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always supported and encouraged Indian women in every field. Rekha along with Co-Convenor of the Abhiyaan Divya Jain, Ex-Councillor Narinder Singh, Sarojini Sharma, and others had an interaction and had a cup of tea with ladies doing work for the wives of the army and also did a workshop on zumba for the well being of the community at Sainik colony of Bahu Constituency in Jammu South.
Rekha added that Modi ji is coming to Jammu after the abrogation of Article 370, a constitutional provision, which had turned the females born in this erstwhile state into second-class citizens and the abrogation of the controversial provision of the constitution has brought smiles and a sense of belongingness to the own land on the faces of females, as the decision of the Modi led government has given them equal status at par with other citizens of J&K and it is indeed a great honor for all of us.
Rekha Mahajan highlights that the Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme will be extended so that more youth can take advantage of it and "local youth especially from Jammu region will receive employment. Public sector units and big private sector companies will be encouraged to create jobs for the local youth in the state.
Rekha Mahajan elaborates that India is witnessing a rapid transition from women's development to women-led development, we have developed a multi-pronged approach in our strategy under the leadership of our honorable Prime Minister. She highlighted several aspects of the socio-economic and political status of women in India, giving various statistics related to female literacy, sex ratio, female ownership of land, houses, and bank accounts, and also the political participation of women in parliament.
