MGNREGA convergence plan 2024-25 discussed

REASI, Feb 17: District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, chaired a meeting to discuss the formulation of a convergence plan under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) with schemes of other departments for the financial year 2024-25.
During the meeting, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Pardeep Kumar outlined the features, modes, methods, and permissible activities to be undertaken under convergence with MGNREGA. He also discussed specifications and focal areas to be considered while formulating the convergence plan for the district.
DDC Vishesh Mahajan asked the ACD to prepare a comprehensive plan in consultation with Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, and ICDS. He stressed on the importance of exchanging technical expertise to propose and adopt best practices under the convergence plan for the district. The DDC highlighted the inclusion of works such as construction of kitchen sheds, plantation, desilting of khuls, fish ponds, etc., under the convergence mode. He directed the line departments to work together in a coordinated manner to ensure the formulation of economic development oriented convergence plan in the district.
Later, he asked all concerned departments to effectively implement the convergence plan and achieve sustainable development in the district.
ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, PO Poshan Mohd Anwar Banday, Chief Agriculture and Horticulture Officer, AD Fisheries and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
