Samba, Feb 18: Samba Police, in its relentless pursuit against bovine smuggling activities, has thwarted yet another attempt, leading to the arrest of a bovine smuggler, the rescue of fourteen bovines, and the seizure of a truck within the jurisdiction of Police Post Mansar.
During routine vehicle checking at naka Mansar, a police team from Police Post Mansar, under the supervision of the Incharge, intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK20C-3470 for inspection. Upon thorough examination, fourteen bovines were discovered cramped inside the vehicle, cruelly tied and being transported illegally without proper authorization.
The apprehended bovine smuggler, identified as Shahid Ali, son of Nazir Ahmed and a resident of Dhirti, Jhajjar Kotli district Jammu, has been taken into custody. Furthermore, the truck utilized for the unlawful transportation of bovines has been impounded. A case has been registered under FIR No. 47/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act at Police Station Samba, and investigations are underway to uncover further details pertaining to the illegal activity.
