Jammu, Feb 18: Members of the T R Gupta Public Charitable Trust visited and donated the Govt. Middle School Chad, Zone Lower Hathal, Teryath in District Rajouri and donated many items of use for the students who come from poor families. As per their requirement the Trust Members handed over Note Books, Pencils, Shoes and Socks to students.
These items were handed over to students by Dr Ashok Kumar Gupta, former Head of Department Paediatrics, in Govt Medical College Jammu, Sh Rajinder Motial former General Secretary of Jammu Chambers of Commerce, both Trustees and Mr Raman Pargal Manager of the Trust. The students were overwhelmed to receive these items and thanked the Trust for this laudable contribution.
On the Occasion, the students presented a colourful cultural program which was well organized and coordinated by the teachers. They presented group and solo songs in different languages. One girl student melodiously sung a Gogri song.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ashok Gupta advised the students about a healthy diet, avoiding junk food, packed juices, cold drinks etc. He asked the students to instead eat home-made food and inculcate a habit of eating seasonal vegetables and fruits. Most of the school children were found to be undernourished, stunted and anaemic. They were encouraged to regularly undergo deworming once every 6 months and use iron folic tablets which are readily available in all the Govt. Health institutions so as make India Anaemic Mukt Bharat.
The Trust thanked the school teachers and other staff for their tireless efforts and commitment in shaping the future of children, especially Master Ajay Sharma the architect of the whole program.
