JAMMU, FEB 23: Extending greetings to the people on eve of Mahashivratri, the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Tara Chand has stressed for promoting equality and mutual brotherhood among ourselves. He said that it is the only way for ensuring an egalitarian order in our society. Speaking on the Mahashivratri festivities, organized by Barwala Sabha at Kabir Colony, here this evening, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the festival should be celebrated in true spirit as every religion speaks about love, devotion, caring and honest living. Tara Chand said that we have to rise above class differences and work towards a classless society. He asked for promotion of education among the poor and the downtrodden as it provide an opportunity for them to shape their destiny in a proper way. He also called upon the parents to inculcate good values among the wards so that they imbibe good values of life. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Government is formulating specific plans to address the problem of rising unemployment among weaker sections and said that public-private partnerships are being initiated to check the menace. He asked the people present on the occasion to focus on skill development of their youth to enhance their employability. Speaking on the occasion, Corporator, Ward No.40, Mr. Chaman Lal thanked the Deputy Chief Minister for attending the function. He urged the Deputy Chief Minister to put into effect a mechanism by way of which the poor deserving youth are accommodated in forward linkages of various departments so that they earn their livelihood with dignity. He also highlighted the need for establishing a community hall, given the inability of the poor people to afford costly private marriage halls. Responding to the demands, the Deputy Chief Minister said the same would be taken up on priority.
