Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 18: Amid the joining of the many National Conference leaders in the BJP, there are rumours that a couple of senior Congress leaders may join the Saffron Brigade during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at Jammu on Tuesday. Although most of the BJP leaders are in Delhi attending national executive council meeting, Congress leaders, sources said, are in touch with some top BJP leaders. Sources said that two Jammu-based Congress leaders and some leaders from Kashmir Valley have opened a channel of communication with the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
“There is a possibility that these leaders may join the BJP during Prime Minister’s rally”, a source said and added that local BJP leaders have yet not confirmed any such developments.

At the national level, there are rumours that senior Cong leader Manish Tewari is joining the BJP.
Congress leader and party Lok Sabha member Manish Tewari is joining the BJP.
Reports indicated that Tewari had been communicating with the BJP, with suggestions that he was interested in running for the Ludhiana parliamentary constituency under the BJP’s banner.
This development coincided with ongoing speculation about the potential defection of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, his son Nakul, and other MPs to the BJP before the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath are reportedly in communication with the BJP leadership regarding a possible switch in political allegiance. The rumors intensified after Kamal Nath’s arrival in Delhi on Saturday.
Addressing reporters in the capital, the seasoned politician stated that if any such move were to occur, he would disclose it to the media first.
