Early Times Report
RAMGARH, Feb 20: Government Degree College Ramgarh witnessed a proactive initiative led by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit 'Prabha' as they conducted cleanliness and plantation drives within the college campus. This undertaking was part of the ongoing 7-day Winter Camp activities aimed at fostering community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the College Principal, the second day of the Winter Camp saw enthusiastic participation in these drives. Stressing the significance of maintaining cleanliness and fostering a green environment, Prof. Andotra highlighted the role of educational institutions in instilling values of hygiene and environmental conservation among students and society.
Addressing the importance of tree plantation, Prof. Andotra emphasized its critical role in combating air pollution and mitigating the impacts of global warming. She underscored the urgency of tree plantation as a necessity rather than a choice.
Prof. Brahm Dutt Sharma, the NSS Programme Officer, motivated volunteers to actively engage in such initiatives, encouraging them to plant trees and maintain cleanliness with enthusiasm. He emphasized that these activities not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also fulfill the college's social responsibilities towards society.
The participation of a large number of NSS volunteers in the cleanliness and plantation drives demonstrated a collective commitment to creating a cleaner and greener environment within the college premises. Such initiatives reflect the college's dedication to fostering a sense of environmental consciousness and social responsibility among its students and staff.
