Jammu, Feb 23: A meeting of the residents of Channi Himmat was held under the chairmanship of councilor Praveen Kr. Gupta, to access the working of the JMC and other allied departments. The people were of the opinion that a colony known as posh locality of the city has been pushed in a very bad condition of lanes, drains, by-lanes and sanitation problems. The roads constructed by the J&K Housing Board about 25 years back were out of order and even the commuters cannot ply their vehicles. The rotaries shown in the plan were not developed by J&K Housing Board. The Housing Board officials said that their work was only to provide infrastructure like roads, lanes and drains. There is no provision of repairing of lane drains in their budget/ policy. A complete project of the whole of the colony for development of the lanes drains and roads along with project for development of parks is already submitted to the J&K Govt for their approval and release of funds. The residents in a meeting request the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and to the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand to kindly transfer the major roads and big drains to the R&B deptt. And also to release the special funds for the development of the colony and for the good environment to the residents of the colony. The residents of the colony S. Prem Singh ,Jitendra Kumar Aul, Harish Kapoor , K.P Raina, J.C. Shastri, Subash Chander, Sham Lal, T.K. Dhar, and others attended the meeting.
