Plantation drive flourishes at Govt PG College Rajouri

RAJOURI, Feb 22: In a spirited effort to foster environmental stewardship, the Department of Botany at Government P.G College Rajouri orchestrated a commendable plantation drive within the verdant confines of the Botanical Garden. Spearheaded by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, and under the adept leadership of Dr. Tajinder Singh, the initiative marked a significant stride towards greener pastures. Distinguished faculty members including Prof. Rayaz Mirza, IQAC coordinator, Prof. Joginder Singh from the Department of Physics, and Prof. Altaf Ahmed from the Department of Geology lent their expertise and enthusiasm to the cause. Alongside, the dedicated teaching staff comprising Dr. Saleem Jahangir and Dr. Tahir Mehmood were instrumental in ensuring the success of the endeavor. The event witnessed a flourishing assembly of participants, with both teaching and non-teaching staff of the Botany Department joining hands with a multitude of students. Together, they planted a diverse range of flora, notably including medicinal plants such as Amaltas, Bael, Falsa, Ber, and peepal, alongside various flowering species, enriching the ecological tapestry of the region.
