GDC Khour NSS Unit embarks on beautification drive

KHOUR, Feb 22: In a display of collective effort and community spirit, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Government Degree College Khour orchestrated a vibrant Shramdaan initiative as part of its ongoing 7-day NSS Special winter camp. Led by the dynamic guidance of Prof. (Dr.) T. K Sharma, Principal of the College, and under the meticulous supervision of Prof. Himanshu Khajuria, Programme Officer of the NSS unit, the event aimed to enhance the aesthetic appeal and eco-friendliness of the college campus.
On the second day of the camp, approximately 45 dedicated NSS volunteers converged at the NSS Park and various other locations within the College premises. For three hours, they fervently engaged in a beautification drive, infusing the surroundings with vibrant energy and color. Their tasks included painting tree stumps in white hues and adorning stones with a spectrum of colors, thereby uplifting the ambiance of the campus.
Expressing his profound appreciation, Principal Prof. (Dr.) T. K Sharma lauded the relentless efforts of the NSS volunteers. He emphasized the pivotal role of such initiatives in fostering a sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation and cleanliness. Encouraging active participation, he urged the volunteers to continue their endeavors in contributing to the beautification of the college campus, thereby nurturing a clean and eco-friendly environment.
The event not only exemplified the spirit of camaraderie and dedication but also underscored the NSS Unit's commitment to community engagement and social welfare. As the echoes of Shramdaan resonate through the campus, its impact is poised to inspire further initiatives towards sustainable development and environmental stewardship within the college and beyond.
