Panthers resolution on hike of daily wages

Jammu, Feb 23: Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP MLA and leader of the Legislature Party has presented a resolution in the Assembly under rule 174 of the Assembly Conduct Rules for enhancement in the wags of daily wagers from Rs. 70/- per day to a minimum of Rs. 150/- per day in conformity with the increase in the emoluments of their counter parts in the regular establishment. He has urged for immediate issuance of orders in this regard so that the much deprived labour class including all other daily wagers engaged in various government and private establishments could be ensured justice. He said that it was necessary to ensure immediate increase in wags of daily rated workers in various government departments including PHE, R&B, PDD, Rural Development Department, Health, Education etc. in view of prevailing price index and also in view of revision of pay scales effected in the government sector at various levels.
Harsh Dev Singh has further demanded proportional enhancement in the salary of contractual and adhoc employees working in the various government departments. He further sought their early regularization in consonance with the assurances doled out from time to time.
Harsh Dev Singh has further given notices of AQs in the Assembly regarding the employment policy of the government and the steps taken by it to translate its slogan of “one job for each household” into reality. He has regretted the government apathy towards the plight of unemployed Engineers, ITI Trained electricians, Agricultural Graduates, Graduate and Post Graduate unemployed, Home Guard agitating for the last two years on streets and its criminal neglect in addressing the issue.
Harsh Dev Singh has further sought discussion in the Assembly with regard to the much loudly announced PM’s package of Rs. 24,000/- crores and the failure of the government to ensure implementation of even ten percent of the said package in a period of five years.
