Four-day training program on handling various types of Cybercrimes concluded at ZPHQ Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 22: The training of two batches of telecom operators for handling cybercrime cases and capacity building of police personnel of Jammu Zone culminated today.
The training sessions were conducted at the Conference Hall of Zonal Police HeadQuarters, Jammu by Cyber Police Station, Jammu in compliance with the directions of PHQ J&K Order no. TRG/20/2024/624-32 dated 09-02-2024. A total of 25 officers/officials of the telecom wing of Jammu Zone participated in the training program.
Kameshwar Puri, Incharge Cyber Police Station, Jammu briefed the chair about various aspects of the training covered during the training period.
Lectures were delivered by the officers of Cyber Police Station Jammu and Crime Headquarters J&K. The participants were trained in handling cyber-crime including bank fraud and social media complaints/cases. Besides, the trainees were also given training to deal with complaints received on cyber-crime portals and 1930.
The hands-on session was also provided to the trainees to handle different portals including the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) for missing mobile complaints electronically for effective tracing and blocking of missing mobile phones at the police station level and about grievance redressal portal to address grievance related to social media accounts.
On the occasion, DIG JSK, Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS, gave an insight into growing cyber-crimes and an earnest need to tackle them. He also assured to create Thana level teams to address the menace of increasing cyber-crimes to provide instant relief to the victims of cyber fraud.
ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, IPS, felicitated the officers and officials for best performance during the training.
ADGP Jammu Zone emphasized the need to strengthen Cyber Cell at district level and directed all the telecom officers/officials to work with dedication and utmost professionalism to deal with cyber incidents and curb cyber menace.
