Under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Pragya Khanna, the Principal, and the supervision of HOD Dogri Department, National Sahitya Akademi Awardee Ganga Sharma, an enriching event unfolded with the theme, Expressing oneself in one’s mother tongue.

She highlighted this year’s theme, “Multilingual education is a pillar of intergenerational learning,” stressing the significance of preserving languages as conduits for traditional knowledge and cultural heritage.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 27 students from the 4th and 6th semesters, who showcased their linguistic talents through recitations of poems, storytelling, musical performances, and discussions about historical places in languages including Dogri, Paddri, Pahari, Gojri, and Poonchi.
Distinguished senior colleagues, including Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Prof. Neeru Sharma, Dr. Rajni Bala, and Dr. Punam Rani, graced the occasion as special guests. The culmination of the event saw the distribution of Prof. Ganga Sharma’s poetry collection book titled “MANNAE DA BUAAL,” which earned her the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 2020, making her the first woman from Jammu Kashmir to receive this honor.
